I’ve been practicing taekwondo and kickboxing for a long time now and have always noticed that my shoes created a much different feel than when I practiced barefoot. I didn’t like that, as I thought that if I ever got attacked I wouldn’t be able to use the kids I trained because my feet felt weighted and stuck to the ground. So I looked up martial arts shoes, and I discovered Feiyue. These shoes have been almost perfect for all of my problems. The treading on the shoes allows me to pivot my feet without feeling restricted or stuck to the ground, but also allows me to not feel like I’m sliding on the ground. They also have great width, as previous shoes I’ve owned caused discomfort from squeezing my feet. Wearing these is almost just like being barefoot. The only thing of slight concern is how thin some parts of the shoe is. It’s not an issue, and makes sense for the purposes of the shoe, but I was a bit shocked when I noticed that around my ankle, the shoe had no real form, just bits of fabric around my foot. But all I had to do was tighten the shoe and it fixed the problem.
